January 28, 2005
Police are monitoring 50 to 70 Internet sites allegedly involved in
pornography, an official said Thursday.
This developed after a popular teen actress and two bold starlets filed
complaints before police that their images were being used in Internet porn
sites, Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) acting director Senior
Superintendent Rodolfo Mendoza said.
"The CIDG is now conducting a computer forensic examination to find out the hub
of the operation of these syndicates," Mendoza told reporters in Camp Crame.
Mendoza refused to identify the celebrity complainants, whose faces he said
were being superimposed on pictures of women performing sexual acts.
Investigators are also monitoring telephone lines that were being used
excessively to find clues on the location of these cyber porn dens.
"Once we detect this excessive use of telephone lines, we then monitor these
and find out if our suspicions are right," Mendoza said. 19 women, mostly
minors, from a cyber sex syndicate called Orgasmic Studios Inc. in Las
Piñas City.
The girls pose naked for web cameras and their images are broadcast to mainly
foreign audiences, police said.
