December 14, 2004
Tarlac City — Three female minors, who all happen to be from Quezon City, were
rescue by combined police operatives from a suspected prostitution den in Sta.
Ignacia, a town some 10 kilometers northwest of this city.
According to Supt. Rudy Lacadin, city police chief here and concurrent head of
the Provincial Anti-Crime Composite Task Force, the raid was carried out on the
Cogoon Restaurant and Videoke Bar in Barangay Pugo Cecilio in the said town.
Aside from the task force, also involved in the operation were the police
Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) and the Tarlac police
provincial office.
Rescued from the said place were three minors with ages, 13, 14 and 15, with
respective addresses in barangays Bagabag, Lagkitan and Sauyo, all in
Novaliches in Quezon City, who all worked in the said establishment as “guest
relations officers” or GROs.
Also nabbed were Doveshirino Yu, 23, of Bagong Barrio in Caloocan City; Analie
Aniasco, 20, of Dasmarinas, Cavite; and, Rowena Cortez, 22, of Dumaguete City.
They also worked as GROs in the same bar.
Lacadin said that charges were filed against the bar’s owner, one Neng Alvan,
for allegedly illegally detaining the minors, and forcing all of the women into
prostitution.
He said that police also found that the women in the bar have no working
permits, and that because of this, they were considered as “a threat to the
health of their costumers.”
