Vietnam intensifies fight against human trafficking
November 2, 2004
Hanoi - The Prime Minister last Friday signed a decision establishing a
steering board for an action programme to combat woman and child trafficking.
The 11-member board, headed by Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Khiem, is tasked
to help the Government and the Prime Minister direct ministries, sectors,
provinces and cities in conducting activities against the trafficking of women
and children.
The Ministry of Public Security will sponsor the campaign and coordinate with
relevant agencies in implementing it.
The decision will take effect 15 days after it is published in a circular.
