Dutchman jailed in Vietnam for selling porn

A Dutchman of Taiwanese origin has been jailed in Vietnam for three years for producing and trading pornographic videos.

A court in Ho Chi Minh City jailed the 45-year-old man on Tuesday for "spreading depraved culture", Dutch news agency nu.nl reported.

The man arrived in Vietnam in 2002 and opened a restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City, formerly known as Saigon.

After importing numerous illegal pornographic films, the man started photographing and filming his own sex orgies with Vietnamese women.

The court heard the sex orgies took place after the man had offered the women aphrodisiac beverages.

The Dutchman was arrested in his Ho Chi Minh City home in 2003 with four women. Police later found 170 pornographic photos in his computer hard drive.

A court official said the man had confessed his actions.
