According to the police, Maninder Singh, a resident of Meharban village,
allegedly developed intimate relationship with the 19-year-old girl.
Sources said Maninder allegedly sexually exploited the girl, who is the sister
of his friend, on the pretext of marrying her.
He also took the girl to the house of his friend Kuldeep Singh in Patti near
Amritsar and filmed her in objectionable circumstances. He later took the girl
to his house where his mother assured the girl that her son would marry her.
The girl has told the police Maninder used to physically exploit her at his
house and his mother too was party to all the wrongdoings.
The man allegedly threatened her of dire consequences if she reports the matter
to anyone.
The new turn in the story came when Maninder recently got married to another
girl and at the victim narrated the incident to her family.
Sources said the family of the girl reported the matter to the Basti Jodhewal
police station and the police have booked Maninder, his mother and his friend
Kuldeep Singh. The police have started searching for the accused persons, who
are reported to be hiding somewhere.
