"There has been an increase in prostitution cases in the city after dance bars
were closed in Mumbai", a senior police official said.
"We are keeping a close watch and would not allow any kind of illegal business
to flourish," he said.
Six people, including two bar girls from Mumbai, were arrested in the city
Thursday in connection with an alleged prostitution racket run at a
beauty-cum-massage parlour.
The bar girls were brought to Rajasthan on a 15-day contract, police said.
Earlier this month, three Mumbai-based bar girls were arrested in the city.
Police interrogations revealed that a network of pimps and agents was operating
in both in Maharashtra ans Rajasthan. But most of them prefer to come to
Rajasthan in view of its "good market", a police official said.
