Shimla catches 'risque' Delhi bar girls
May 11, 2005
Shimla - Four scantly clad dance girls belonging to Delhi were arrested from a
hotel near Naldehra, about 20 kms from Shimla in Himachal Pradesh, police said
on Tuesday.
The girls, booked under Section 42 (1) and 109 of IPC, were produced before the
magistrate and were released on bail, Additional Superintendent of police Asif
Jalal, who led the raid party, said.
The scantly clad girls were seen in obscene postures in a group of about 100
persons, most of them were drunk, when the police raided the hotel on Tuesday
night, Jalal said.
The police also seized a large quantity of liquor. The hotel had no licence for
bar and a separate case had been registered against the owner of the hotel in
this connection, he added.
During interrogation, the girls said they were contacted by a person Mohinder
who brought them. Mohinder fled the hotel while the raid was being conducted
and efforts were on to arrest him, he said.
The girls told the police they were members of a dance club in Delhi and were
engaged for Rs 700 per day. They were brought here in a car for dancing and
entertaining guests and customers of the hotel, who had also come from Delhi.
Jalal said the matter was being inquired into and a case under the Immoral
Trafficking Act could be registered if evidence was available.
