Girl in porn CD not Anara: Lab
January 5, 2005
New Delhi - A Hyderabad-based forensic laboratory, investigating the porn CD
purportedly featuring former Miss Jammu Anara Gupta, has said the woman in the
video is not her.
The former Miss Jammu was arrested under the Immoral Trafficking Act and is
presently in police custody. She had maintained the girl in the CD was not her.
Earlier, Anara's mother, in a petition to the National Commission for Women
(NCW) had demanded a CBI probe claiming that the girl in the porn film was not
her daughter.
"I told the Commission how my entire family was kept in illegal detention for
11 days and tortured by police. It was when Anara could no longer bear to see
her mother being beaten up that she said she was involved in the making of the
CD," Raj Rani had told reporters after meeting NCW chairperson Poornima Advani
on December 25.
"I don't know why all this is happening, but one possibility could be that
there is a tie-up between the CD mafia and policemen. We have no faith in
police or Crime Branch, which is why we have urged for a CBI probe," she said.
"The girl in the CD is very different from Anara. There is no resemblance," she
said.
The CD was sent to Hyderabad-based forensic lab after Anara slapped a suit
demanding Rs 1 crore as damages from the police claiming that she was not the
girl who had acted in the CD.
The Hyderabad forensic lab report vindicates Rani's stand. In its report the
lab said that the woman seen in the porn films that landed Anara behind bars is
actually not Anara.
According to the police, Anara was allegedly involved in making pornographic
VCD in connivance with one Narinder Kohli. The Jammu and Kashmir High Court had
also restrained her from venturing outside the state.
