Brothel in garb of guest house in Khirki Extn, 9 held

New Delhi - The Delhi Police Crime Branch claimed to have busted a prostitution
racket on Wednesday and arrested seven girls and two pimps from the Khirki
Extension area in South Delhi. The prostitution racket was being run in the
garb of a guest house ‘Tree of Life’.
Information was received by the police yesterday that Jag Mohan Gupta has been
running a prostitution racket from his guest house in the Khirki Extension area
in Malviya Nagar. A deal was struck with Gupta by a decoy customer in the
presence of a shadow witness. As soon as the transaction of money took place,
the police raided the place and arrested the accused. The pre-signed currency
notes were recovered.
The deal had been finalised for Rs 4,000 and Rs 2,000 was paid as advance.
Seven girls were shown to the decoy customer and he was asked to select.
Gupta, the police said, hails from an affluent family and initially used to
rent out the apartments of his multi-storey guest house. He later came in
contact with a lady, a co-accused, who shifted her base from Mumbai to Delhi
following the premature death of her husband.
Gradually Gupta, a septuagenarian and called ‘Uncleji’, joined hands with her.
The duo spread their network and engaged more than two dozen women. Because of
his age people in the vicinity never realized what was happening over there,
said the police.
The girls were supplied to five-star hotels, guest houses and residential areas
in South Delhi. The rates of the girls would vary from Rs 4,000 a night and
half the amount for their services at the guest house itself. One of the girls,
a graduate from Delhi University, is an aspiring candidate for tinsel world,
said the police.
