Ahmed Hasan Khan faces up to 10 years in prison when he is sentenced May 11
after a guilty plea in U.S. District Court in Alexandria to a single count of
child pornography possession.
Khan, a contractor employed at Abu Ghraib, was discovered after a computer
network administrator at the prison saw that Khan had been visiting suspicious
Web sites in November 2005, according to court documents.
Military police later obtained a search warrant and found hundreds of images of
child porn on Khan's laptop computer, including photos and videos of children
as young as toddlers, according to court records.
Khan's security clearance was revoked shortly after the investigation, and he
was sent from Iraq back to his home in Woodbridge, Virginia.
Court records do not specify what kind of work Khan was doing at Abu Ghraib.
New York-based L-3 Communications Holdings Inc., which employed Khan, has
contracts for translators and other services in Iraq. A spokeswoman for L-3 did
not immediately return calls Wednesday seeking clarification of Khan's duties
at Abu Ghraib.
