Iran Police Official Denies Auction of Iranian Girls
Jun 22, 2004
The managing director of the Department for Combat Against Social Corruption,
Colonel Azim Husseini, noted, "Although many Iranian girls leave the country
legally, they don't know what is waiting for them."
He referred to actions taken to struggle against Iranian girls' trafficking and
added," First of all, the fundamental policy of the Police Force is to inform
the families. On the other hand we have activated the surveillance system of
the police force and other related organizations, while holding several
meetings with travel agencies."
"Offenses were committed in regard to transference of Iranian girls to the
Persian Gulf littoral states by two travel agencies, which we immediately shut
down," he pinpointed. Moreover, he rejected the report on auction of Iranian
girls in Dubai and considered it as baseless. He then pointed to this report as
a means to defame the Iranian community.
Colonel Husseini went on to say that this report has been announced by an
Iranian named Mostafa bin Yahya, who plays a role in the corrupt gangs of
Central Asia. He was detained with the order of a Judicial official. Husseini
reminded that only one percent of foreign trips are related to corruption and
prostitution. Elsewhere he stated, "25 people were arrested in regard to
transference of girls abroad, last year."
