Also, 41 members of the website and a man who tried to hack it were booked but
not detained.
Police said they took away 20,000 photos that were posted on the website and
requested the Korea Internet Safety Commission officially close the website.
According to the police, the website was able to raise about 620 million won by
allowing its 300,000 members, mostly men, to post sexually explicit and nude
photos of their wives and girlfriends. The website opened in 2001.
Its members include university professors, the president of a trading company,
a screenwriter and a governor's son. Three females also participated in the
group.
Police said the members may have begun participating simply for fun, but say
the situation quickly grew out control.
In a bizarre twist, some members even posted family snapshots along with the sexually explicit photos to prove that the women in the shots were really their wives.
