When curious Netizens posted the background story on their blogs, it became the
center of some heated discussion.
One posting insists, "It was added to emphasize how the T-shirt sticks to your
body just like a condom." Another had no time for such fanciful readings. "Of
course they added it to the shirt for you to use it with your girlfriend. Why
else would they have added it?" The Chosun Ilbo asked the designer, Go Hwa Seop
(32), for the lowdown.
The answer was unexpected. "A T-shirt got messed up during the dyeing process, and it turned out to be a design we wouldn't be able to sell. At the time I was thinking of what a waste it was, so just for fun I put a condom in there. Unexpectedly, everyone had a pretty good reaction to the shirt. You can use the condom when you need it or it can just be used as a talking point." He said. "I want to keep developing a series of T-shirts for people with personality."
