Iijima had said on TV before that the hotel made delicious desserts, so at first
it seemed she may have gone shopping after an attack of the munchies. But she
didn't head to any of the stores, instead making a beeline for the check-in
counter.
Within minutes, a smiling man walked over to the 34-year-old retired celebrity
and began chatting away to her.
Josei Jishin notes that Iijima and the man walked into an elevator and
obviously up to the room she'd just booked out.
Iijima later wrote about the incident on her blog. Under the headline "Ai
Iijima has really got herself in trouble," Iijima wrote "I figured they
wouldn't get mad if we stayed another night. But then I realized I shouldn't
have checked in myself. Well, lots has been happening."
A few days after the hotel stay, the weekly's reporters caught up with Iijima
outside her home, asking her plans for marriage and more details about the man
she'd been with.
Iijima brushed the reporters off and headed into her home.
"Write whatever you want," Josei Jishin quotes her telling the hacks before
heading inside.
