The cable car, known as the Kikkoro Gondola, connects the northern and southern
ends of the expo site.
The group, including the producer of a Tokyo-based adult film production firm,
and a male and female actor who appeared in the video, were reported to the
Seto Local Public Prosecutors Office on suspicion of committing the petty
offence of partial bodily exposure in a location in public view.
Referred to prosecutors were the 33-year-old producer of the film, the
28-year-old director, a 31-year-old cameraman, and a 39-year-old man and
26-year-old woman who allegedly appeared in the video.
Investigators said the five filmed a one-minute video inside the Kikkoro
Gondola cable car at about 2 pm on May 2. In the video, the female actor
exposed her upper body and man was filmed touching it, police said.
The video was broadcast on a satellite channel on Aug. 26 as part of a longer program. A 26-year-old man from Tokyo who saw the video noticed that it had been filmed in the expo cable car and reported it to the expo association. The association subsequently reported the video to police. The program reportedly included an interview with an attendant at an expo pavilion.
