One of Peter's weirdest fan encounters was when a male fan grabbed his hand and
kissed the back of it - 'the way a prince would kiss a princess'.
Having already posed topless in suggestive poses, it makes you wonder how much
more skin he would be willing to show.
'That's about my limit!' he told TheNew Paper with a laugh.
'But if I were approached with a script that requires me to do more, I would
consider it.
'Only if it is absolutely essential to the plot.'
For those who feel inspired to head to the gym, here's some good news.
Two years ago, Peter wasn't all that beefy. He only started to work out
seriously after he was approached to front China-based underwear brand
bench-BODY.
He said, half in jest: 'They were willing to put their reputation on the line
and hire me to model their underwear.
'I used to be a bag of bones. After hearing that they had so much faith in me,
I started training hard to get in shape.'
Loves Chicken Rice
For someone who cuts such a lean shape, you might wonder if he is one of those
who swears off oily food.
No. Hainanese chicken rice was one of the items on his priority list when he
first landed in Singapore last week to promote his new album.
'They call me ji wang (Mandarin for chicken king) in Taiwan.
'Kentucky Fried Chicken is the only other thing better than Singapore's
Hainanese chicken rice chicken,' he declared.
With a body that countless women would swoon over, could Peter be the next
Asian sex symbol?
He insists otherwise, saying: 'If you look at the same person in the mirror for
the past 30 years, you definitely won't find him sexy any more. I just want to
stay healthy and have a good physique.'
His music video for the first single, Black Wings - which is also his directing
debut - sees him topless in a pair of, well, black wings.
Looks familiar doesn't it? (Think hunky Korean superstar Rain.)
Peter's first response was a cheeky one: 'I don't like rainy days. I like
sunshine.'
But he later paid tribute to Rain's performance.
He insists he was just trying to look the part where he is supposed to
represent a fallen angel in his music video.
'Aaron Kwok and Mayday have also featured wings in their get-ups before.'
Penned Lyrics
To be sure, Peter is not just eye candy. He also penned the lyrics of some of
his latest tracks.
Inspired by a touching letter from one of his fans, he wrote the words for his
song, A Letter.
The album production was fully funded by himself, including the NT1million
($50,000) prize he offered in a songwriting contest for its first single.
'This album is all about fulfilling my dream of coming back into the music
industry. Since it's all about dreams, why not make someone else's
(songwriting) dream come true as well?'
Well, he just might.
When asked about his rumoured girlfriend Korean actress-singer Jang Nara, Peter
stressed that their relationship is purely work-related and nothing more.
Then, he went on to list the qualities he looks for in a partner: 'As long as
she's filial and can cook.'
Girls, you still have a chance.
